AkzoNobel Amersfoort and Sweden have used Layar during a fair (JEC 2015, Paris) by adding AR to their booth. After scanning with Layar the following information was visible; information about the division, products and the website. Therefore the user was able to watch e.g. a transparent video (alpha channel). Next to that a relative geo layer was developed which contained both general as product information. After scanning with Layar the information is situated around the user when moving around slowly. The same information (video and geo layer) is also used as a Layar for brochures. In this case the visitors of the fair can view the information once more at home. For Sweden specifically the Layar elements gave insight in the implementation of the material Polymer. By using a 3D model of a windmill AkzoNobel indicates where the material is processed in.
Augmented Reality is therefore particularly appropriate to bring a fair booth to live.
